Cara Mularski is currently in her internship as a graduate counseling student at the University of Houston-Victoria, where she is committed to integrating various counseling theories and approaches to provide comprehensive support to her clients. With a passion for mental health advocacy and crisis intervention, Cara is dedicated to creating meaningful connections and fostering positive change in individuals' lives.

 

Drawing from attachment theory, Cara understands the importance of early relationships in shaping one's emotional well-being. This theory informs her practice by emphasizing the significance of establishing a secure therapeutic alliance built on trust and empathy, essential for facilitating growth and healing.

Furthermore, Cara embraces an integrated working model that incorporates elements

from various counseling theories, including existential and person-centered approaches.

By synthesizing these perspectives, Cara tailors her interventions to meet the unique needs and preferences of each client, fostering a collaborative and empowering therapeutic environment.

Cara's approach also encompasses a modern, creative perspective, acknowledging the

evolving landscape of mental health and the diverse needs of individuals in today's society. Utilizing innovative techniques such as expressive arts therapy, mindfulness practices, and narrative therapy, Cara empowers clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in creative and transformative ways.

 

As a member of the Psi Chi International Honor Society, Cara maintains a commitment to academic excellence and ethical practice, ensuring that her counseling endeavors are grounded in evidence-based principles and guided by a strong ethical framework.

Outside of her academic pursuits, Cara is a devoted mother, emphasizing the importance of mental health within familial dynamics. Her personal experiences further fuel her dedication to providing individuals of all ages with access to the support and resources necessary for their mental well-being.
